The “corn stalk” applique design represents the relationship the Hopi People share with their plants, and how that relationship shapes our worldview. Our job is to be the rain callers on behalf of our babies/plants. We spend immense time and effort growing our crops each year because that is part of our cultural identity and this skirt represents the importance of our duty.
